What Perlatio does

• On the phone, offline

  Call or dial a contact, draft an SMS or email, pre-filled WhatsApp conversations, a reminder with an alarm, contact search and app launch.

• The path stays on the device

  Speech recognition on the device, plus an on-device model (Gemini Nano via ML Kit) where the phone supports it. A rule-based router catches the rest.

• Default digital assistant

  Start with a long press of the side button.

• No account, no analytics

  No ads, no tracking; API keys encrypted on the device. Data leaves the device only once a cloud or MCP access is set up.

• Operable with TalkBack

  Screen-reader friendly, keyboard and D-pad focus, light and dark.

• An honest limit

  No automation of other apps through accessibility services; WhatsApp messages are pre-filled and need one tap.

Requirements

Android 12 (API 31) or newer. A phone with telephony for calls; the app works without it, minus calling. Optional: an OpenRouter/OpenAI-compatible API key, or a self-hosted server.

  OpenRouter (default) or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, including self-hosted.

• MCP servers

  Remote MCP over Streamable HTTP, including Home Assistant MCP.
